Hitting the Gym

Okay...so been hella stressed lately and real busy with everything. But I do recognize that it's very important to keep your body healthy. So I had my first orientation with the trainer yesterday. Found out my body fat percentage (not going to tell you..kinda embarrassed) but learned what I need to work on. All I know is that I want to tone up and get more flexible. Goal is to lose ten pounds and maintain it. Going to start up once I move into my new place.
Obama is in the HOUSE!!
Have to give shouts out to Obama who was born and raised here in Hawaii...my roommates missed him at the store by 5 mins. But my other friend Joey was able to check out his rally. Obama for President!!
Obama greeted the cheering crowd with a loud "Aloha! How's everybody doing today? Howzit!"
Obama, and his wife Michelle, were joined at the rally by U.S. Sen. Daniel Akaka, U.S. Rep. Neil Abercrombie, Mayor Mufi Hannemann and Hawaii Democrat Party Chairman Brian Schatz.
He praised Hawaii and told how he explains to people how the state has affected his character and politics.
"I try to explain to them something about the aloha spirit. I try to explain to them this basic idea that we all have obligations to each other, that we're not alone, that if we see somebody who's in need we should help," he said.
Obama said "most importantly, that when you come from Hawaii, you start understanding that what's on the surface, what people look like, that doesn't determine who they are.
"And that the power and strength of diversity, the ability of people from everywhere, whether they're black or white, whether they're Japanese-American or Korean-American or Filipino-American or whatever they are, they are just Americans, that all of us can work together and all of us can join together to create a better country.
"It's that spirit, that I'm absolutely convinced, is what America is looking for right now."
RELAXATION!!

Love & Life

I don't what it is but I think we think men are what brings pain to our lives.
If it's not the man that hurt you, it's the man that you are with now.
We can't let go of all the pain and heartache that they have given us.
We blame what they did to us as the reasoning behind our actions and thoughts.
I know so many women just crying out right now.
We just can't let it go.
Well I'm here to tell you, you need to let it go.
You need to forgive them, not for them but for yourself.
When you forgive them, they no longer have power over you.
I know it's even harder when you have just ended things,
And you start to reflect on everything.
Then when you are lonely and you feel like you need a man,
That's when you must learn to build your character.
We as women need to recognize that need to handle ours.
We cannot let emotions overtake our lives.
And we can no longer put blame or excuses for our actions.
We need to take Responsibility and become Bitches.
Everything is a season.
Give it time.
And a new season will come and you have to plant new seeds.
Maybe build new relationships. Learn from your old ones.
Love is the only emotion that creates so much joy and pain.
Sometimes we have to take chances and have faith.
Don't let your past relationships hold you from your future.
Believe me. I'm taking a chance on love.
May we all be blessed with love and appreciation.
And LOVE LIFE!!

New Friends...
but when it comes to friends, it's never certain.
You think you know people, but as you grow and they grow
your relationship can change as well.
Sometimes people turn against you.
Sometimes they leave you for other people.
Sometimes you get distance between you and you grow apart.
Sometimes your life gets so busy you just don't talk as often.
Sometimes your friendship has to end because they hurt you.
Sometimes your friends don't have same feelings about situations as you do.
Sometimes friends will always remain in your heart.
Sometimes you get to see each other every now and then.
I've moved from Canada to Arizona to Hawaii. I've had alot of friends come and go. Some people I've lost respect for and decided to let them go. But other than that I try my best to be kind to everyone. If they don't want to like me because they don't want to get to know me, than that's fine with me. I want to say that I have this many best friends but that I don't even know. But over the struggles of my life I've come to learn the only people I can count on as my friends for life is my family and God. Life goes on with phases. I always continue to make new friends and cherish those that choose to appreciate my friendship. Much love to those that stick and stay.
As for this new Fall season, I know that I'm going to make new friendships for my new adventures....

Flash Back!!
Finding a home...
Yay!!! It's that time again!! Olympics!!

I'm so excited for the Summer 2008 Olympics. I'm such a nerd when it comes to it. The whole excitement of the world uniting...yes!! LOL. But anyways...Well when it comes to the Olympics I cheer for Canada (that's where I grew up) for the winter and USA for the summer. But really I cheer for both.
I love watching gymnastics, swimming, running, beach volleyball, fencing, and anything that I can catch on T.V. I'm thinking that it actually starts tomorrow in China cause they are like a day and a half ahead of us. Interesting. I wonder how this is going to work for us in the US?? Well everyone have fun watching the games!! Don't forget to watch the ceremonies...

To My Ladies...

Okay. So last summer when I was at home with my mother we were talking about relationships. So told me one day when my parents where not very happy with each other that my step dad got this book for her. He thought she would take it offensively because of the title. Which she did at first, but then she started to read it. She ended up recommending it to me and letting me borrow it.
So for my ladies that want to be the Baddest Bitches in town because you have become to much of a "Nice Girl" you need to check this book out. Or you just in a relationship or going into one I highly recommend this book and Sherry Argov's other book "Why Men Love Bitches"
Personal Life
With getting very involved with events and radio trying to make it on my Grind, so I'm assuming that I will say that I have a man regardless if I do or not. Personal life should be kept personal. And when the time comes and you know where you stand on a relationship then it will come out publicly. You can't rush into something worth having. <3
Story of the Week. "From Warrior to Gladiator"
http://www.midweek.com/content/story/theweekend_coverstory/tanoai_reed/
Here's a small clip of the article.
From Warrior to Gladiator
For years Tanoai Reed regretted quitting the UH football program, but now his show biz gamble is paying off for him and his family.
....We had no money. We were on food stamps. I rarely saw an extra dollar. I was on a football scholarship for college. This was my first real job.
“I was supposed to go back to football camp for my senior year, but they told me that they could use me for the rest of the movie for continuity. I stuck out because I was so big. So I did the math with my fingers and I thought, oh, I’m going to be a millionaire. So I stayed. But that wasn’t the case.”
After filming of Waterworld ended in L.A., Reed found himself alone with no family around and no job.
“I was like, ‘OK, now what do I do?,’” he says."I was waiting for these guys to call me, but reality was that in Hawaii I was a big fish in a small pond, but in L.A. I’m a small nobody.
“I didn’t know how to hustle as a stuntman. I didn’t have a head-shot. They didn’t tell me that part of the business.”
Reed ended up buying a truck, that he lived out of for about five months, and worked as a bouncer at some of the nightclubs in Hollywood.
After a couple of years and feeling “kind of lost,” Reed decided to move back to Hawaii.
“I was detailing cars and living pretty much homeless for a little bit,” remembers Reed. “I was living out of a van at a used car dealership in Mapunapuna for about two months. And I was like, ‘wow, this sucks. I can’t do this.’
“I felt like my life wasn’t going anywhere. For a good two, three years, I was really regretting my choice of leaving football. And then my father, Leroy, who is a team-ster in the movie industry, was working in San Francisco on Nash Bridges, and he called me up. He heard I was struggling and invited me to get my teamster license and work for him as a driver.

Good Book
I didn't put this book down for two days straight.
I hope that you can check it out.
"Ghetto-born, Winter is the young, wealthy daughter of a prominent Brooklyn drug-dealing family. Quick-witted, sexy, and business minded, this teenage female hustler knows and loves the streets like the curves of her own body. But when a cold wind blows her life in a direction she never expected, her street smarts and seductive skills are put to the test of a lifetime."
