Baby"Fat" - Getting my Hot Mama On

So my baby is been out this belly for 6 months now. But the past couple weeks I have been more conscious of my eating and drinking habits. I have also finally gotten the motivation to work out. I don't know what took me so long because it feels great! My goal is to at least work out half an hour and get some circulation in my blood. I don't have like a routine but doing 15 mins of cardio like running or elliptical then some various circuit training.

I know there are many women that use "I had babies" as an excuse to gaining weight. But I want everyone to know it's okay to use that excuse for the time of being overwhelmed by motherhood. But I have come to learn that what you do with your health habits, mothers are THE biggest influence. I would assume that it has to with the fact that we are the ones that not only nurture but also educate both intentionally and unintentionally. I've been blessed with my mother being such a great example for me. As long as I can remember she would get up and work out, then make breakfast all before we left for school. Then she would shower and get set for her day. Although I haven't gotten into that routine yet (I can barely get up before 9) I know I'm working towards it. All I know is that being healthy is one that is extremely important to me. I want to do every activity with my children like basketball, hiking, swimming.
So how to start?
Make small changes.
-I started by drinking more water on purpose. (try look up basic info on soda. Very interesting especially how it affects kids)
- Working out cause my legs were hurting from not doing anything
What inspires you to stay motivated to have healthy habits??
